The Wellesley Premier League is back this winter and we are pleased to announce a new futsal club! The WPL futsal club will train twice a week and play in a Futsal League on Saturday.

The Futsal Club will only be open to players born in 2006. We will have one 2006 girl’s and one 2006 boy’s team entered into the Massachusetts Futsal League.

The Massachusetts Futsal League have set the roster size at 12. As the league is competitive and due to the small numbers allowed on the roster, we will be hosting an assessment night to pick the teams. The assessment will take place on 4^th December and 5^th December. More information will be provided once the sign up process has closed.

Futsal is different to Soccer in terms of the ball used, field and goal size, team size and game duration to name a few. It is useful for players as it is very technical, the speed of play is faster than Soccer and it is great for developing a great touch and encouraging a possession based style of play.

Playing in a Futsal League is a great chance for teams and players to maintain fitness and continue their soccer development during the winter months.

A player has the ability to register for multiple WUSC programs, provided there are no scheduling conflicts.

 IMPORTANT TO NOTE: If your son or daughter cannot make a consistent commitment to the Premier League Futsal Club due to other conflicts or activities, then signing up for the Premier League Futsal team is not an appropriate option for your player.    

How is the WPL Futsal Club different to the Winter Premier League Program?

• 2 x 60 minute futsal club training sessions per week as a team plus Sat. game
• Open to 2006 birth year only
• Play in the Massachusetts Futsal League
• Futsal training uniform
• Futsal game uniform

Futsal Practice Information:

When:

9 weeks, Tuesdays and Fridays starting week of Jan. 8th, ending week of March 11th (no sessions on Feb. 18-22 due to public school vacation.) 

Futsal League Information: 

When:

The seasons dates are Saturdays Jan 26th, Feb 2nd, 9th,16th, Mar 2nd, 9th, 16^th and all of the games will be played between 3pm and 9pm.

Where:

The game location will change each week and the schedule will be released by the league. Here is a list of the potential game locations Park School, Brookline, Fessenden School, Newton, Brighton High School, Brighton, Rashi School, Dedham, Minuteman High School, Lexington, Belmont Hill School, Belmont.
