WPL Club is delighted to announce that in the Spring of 2022 we will be offering a 2013 birth year team for both boys and girls. This will be the first time a WPL Club Team is offered for this age group and we are excited to get many of the young players involved in the WPL Club Program. (Please note that WPL Club differs from WPL in that the “club" option offers two team practices AND a Sunday game.)
For those of you that are new to Wellesley United Soccer Club or are unfamiliar with the WPL Club program, here is a brief overview:
• Founded 4 years ago in 2017 with 48 players. Today, we are now over 400 players throughout our WPL/WPL Club Program
• WPL Club is in addition to Wellesley Town Soccer
• Professional coaches who will be with the team for the whole Spring
• WPL Club holds practice twice a week in addition to a weekend game
• Practices are held in Wellesley and teams consist of only Wellesley players
WPL Club assessments will be held at Elm Bank Field 2 on the dates listed below:
2013 Boys -15th November - 3:30-4:30pm
2013 Girls - 15th November - 3:30-4:30pm
*If you are unable to make the assessment we can organize another time for your child to be assessed in a session.
Register Here now for the 'WPL Club: born 2013-2007' to attend assessments and sign up for the spring program.
Practice Schedule/Game Schedule:
The Spring season begins in early April and goes until mid-June. Every WPL Club practice will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings this Spring season at Sprague School. Games are played either home or away on Sunday mornings. Each team will practice 75 minutes per session, 2 times a week. WPL Club players are expected to attend all team practices and games.
The number of teams formed in an age group will depend on the number of players who register and their ability levels. Should their be a need for a second team, these teams are tiered (according to ability) as an ’A’ team and a ’B’ team.
Players are selected to the appropriate team based on a number of criteria including the player’s birth year, ability, previous WPL coach’s feedback and their tryout performance.
2013 - Teams 7 vs. 7 game format - 13 Players Maximum per roster
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: In order to be eligible to play on a WPL club team, all players must participate in the 2 days of the WPL Club team’s practice each week and Sunday game, as well as their town practice and game (WUSC in-town or Bays). If your son or daughter cannot make a consistent comm itment to the WPL Club and Wellesley Town Soccer due to other conflicts or activities, then signing up for the WPL Club team would not be an appropriate option for your player.
