Registration is now open for the 2024/25 Wellesley Premier Club season for players born in 2016!

Wellesley Premier Club is delighted to announce that in the Fall of 2024 we will be offering a 2016 birth year team for both boys and girls. This will be the first time a Wellesley Premier Club Team is offered for this age group and we are excited to get many of the young players involved in the Wellesley Premier Club Program. (Please note that Wellesley Premier Club differs from the Wellesley Development Program in that the “club" option offers two team practices AND a Sunday game.)  

For those of you that are new to Wellesley United Soccer Club or are unfamiliar with the Wellesley Premier Club program, here is a brief overview:

•    Founded 7 years ago in 2017 with 48 players. Today, we are now over 400 players throughout our WDP/Wellesley Premier Club Program
•    Wellesley Premier Club is in addition to Wellesley Town Soccer
•    Professional coaches who will be with the team for the whole Year
•    Wellesley Premier Club holds practice twice a week in addition to a weekend game
•    Practices are held in Wellesley and teams consist of only Wellesley players

Wellesley Premier Club 2016 Birth Year - Program Details:

• 2 practices a week (Monday and Wednesday)
• Games played on Sunday in the NECSL
• Game Format: 7v7

Pricing Options - Once Selected on to a team

Option 1 –  Year Round - Fall, Winter and Spring

Option 2 – Fall and Spring

*In order to train with your team for the winter session, you must register for Option 1 -Year-Round.

2016 Girls - 13th May - 3:45-5:00pm and 17th May - 5:15-6:30pm - Elm Bank

2016 Boys - 13th May - 5:15-6:30pm and 17th May - 3:45-5:00pm- Elm Bank

Please note players are expected to attend both assessment dates.

Team Placement/Roster

Once the team placement offer has been sent out you will have 48 hours to accept the offer to confirm your place on the team. Any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out within the 48-hour timeframe.  

The number of teams formed in an age group will depend on the number of players who register and their ability levels. Should there be a need for a second or third team, these teams are tiered (according to ability) as an ’A’ team, a  ’B’ team and a  ’C’ team.  

Players are selected to the appropriate team based on a number of criteria including the player’s birth year, ability, previous Wellesley Premier Club coach’s feedback and their assessment performance.

Practice Schedule/Game Schedule

The fall season begins in early September and will run until mid-November. Every Wellesley Premier Club practice will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings this fall and spring season across the town of Wellesley.  Games are played either home or away on Sundays in both the fall and spring.  Each team will practice 75 minutes per session, 2 times a week. Wellesley Premier Club players are expected to attend all team practices and games. The winter sessions begin in January and goes through the month of March, information will be sent out later this year and these practices will be on different days to the Fall and Spring schedule. 

Tournaments

In 2024/25, Wellesley Premier Club teams will participate in a variety of local and regional tournaments. Teams may play 1-2 tournaments per season, depending upon the age group and competitive level of the team. Every Wellesley Premier Club player will be expected to participate in their team’s tournament. This is an additional cost.  

*Coaches may enter individual team(s) in a one-time only specific tournament and/or participate in tournaments that are annual events or involve the entire club.

Academy - Practice Only Teams

If we are unable to find an appropriate level for a team to play in the league we will offer the team an academy spot which will provide the team a practice only environment to continue to develop as players.  

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:  In order to be eligible to play on a Wellesley Premier Club team, all players must participate in the 2 days of the Wellesley Premier Club program every week, as well as their town practice and game (WUSC in-town and Bays) and the Wellesley Premier Club team Sunday game.  If your son or daughter cannot make a consistent commitment to the Wellesley Premier Club and Wellesley Town Soccer due to other conflicts or activities, then signing up for the Wellesley Premier Club team would not be an appropriate option for your player.
