Wellesley Premier Club (WPC)

Wellesley Premier Club (WPC) teams compete in the New England Club Soccer League (NECSL). The NECSL offers a competitive, development-focused environment with multiple divisions, ensuring teams are well-matched across the region.

Yes. The WPC season spans the Fall and Spring, with additional Winter training. Players are expected to participate in all three phases of the program.

Yes. All WPC players must also be registered in either Wellesley’s In-Town or BAYS (Travel) program each season.

Player fees cover league registration, professional coaching, field and facility usage. Players are responsible for purchasing a Nike uniform kit, which includes a practice shirt, game jersey, training top, shorts, socks, and backpack.

Tryouts are held each April to select teams for the following season.

Placement is based on a combination of factors, including coach evaluations, tryout performance, and player development needs.

Club teams are organized by birth year, in alignment with U.S. Youth Soccer and NECSL standards.

• 9v9 teams: typically 12–16 players
• 11v11 teams: typically 15–18 players

WPC league games are typically played on Sundays, with two team training sessions scheduled during the week and additional town practices or games.

• Home games: Elm Bank or Sprague Fields in Wellesley
• Away games: typically within a 40-minute drive, occasionally up to 90 minutes depending on division placement

Playing time is at the discretion of the coach and is determined by commitment, performance, attitude, and effort. Equal playing time is not guaranteed.

Each team has a volunteer Team Manager who helps coordinate communication, scheduling, and logistics between parents, coaches, and opposing teams.
