Become An In-Town Referee

Program Overview

About Our In-Town Referee Program

Our In-Town Referee Program is designed for new and beginning referees in Grades 7-8.

In-Town referees officiate 2nd and 3rd grade games at Sprague Fields on Saturday mornings and gain foundational experience in managing games, communicating with players, and applying the rules of the sport. No prior referee experience or certification is required.

How it works:

Two referees are assigned to each game with assignments and pay based on grade level.

  • Referees in Grade 7 → Officiate 2nd grade games ($20/game)
  • Referees in Grade 8 → Officiate 3rd grade games ($25/game)

Referees can earn an additional $10 if the second assigned referee is a no-show.

This program is the ideal starting point for players who plan to become certified referees once they turn 14 years old (typically Grade 9).
