Dave Shultz Annual Coaching Award

About the Award

The Dave Shultz Annual Coaching Award honors two volunteer coaches each year who exemplify the highest standards of skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship — the core values of Wellesley United Soccer Club.

Named in honor of longtime coach, mentor, and former club president Dave Shultz, who still resides in Wellesley and remains deeply involved in the soccer community, the award reflects his enduring belief that “it’s all about the kids.”

Dave’s leadership and vision helped shape and grow WUSC in the 2010s into the player-first, community-driven organization it is today.

Established in Fall 2024, the award recognizes two outstanding coaches each year — one from our In-Town program in Pre-K to Grade 3, and one from the BAYS (Travel) program in Grades 4-8 — whose dedication and impact continue Dave’s commitment on and off the field.
